My Review For Naturactor Face Powder

Today I’ll be doing a review on the Naturactor Face Powder from Meiko Cosmetics

I bought this Naturactor Pressed Powder through online in this website www.naturactorfoundation.com .My concern is to mattify my skin, so this pressed powder gave me good result. And honestly this product never disappointed me. So this naturactor pressed powder comes in 4 available shades  (#430: pinkish shade - suitable for very fair skin , #441: for malay fair skin, #451: for typical malay skin
#470: white shade/ can be concealer ).

The packaging is nice and convenient and there is a sponge and mirror inside. I really use it since I need touch up my powder throughout the day.

The Naturactor Face Powder can I use it as my setting powder because it offers buildable, sheer to light coverage. It leaves a math finish and smooth on my skin. I love the versatility that the Naturactor Face Powder offers. When I applied it with the sponge it acts as a setting powder and give me light dusting of product, which reduces shine and sets my makeup and it can evens out my skin tone in just one application. It doesn’t feel heavy on my skin, doesn’t leave a cakey finish and doesn’t emphasize dry spots or flaky skin. I have an oily t-zone and normal skin on the rest of my face. The Naturactor Face Powder lasts at least 3 hours before the natural oils around my nose area starts seeping through. The consistency of this Naturactor Pressed Powder to the touch, feels like my average powder. I actually feel softer to the touch. Naturactor Pressed Powder sets any foundation product but as of being a fan of meiko cosmetics I also use their Naturactor Cover Face Foundation, so with this pressed powder really well leaves matte finish that I love. Is it sheer on its own it does have slight pigmentation that gives a nice finish. If you have clear skin like mine, it also works well alone or on top of a tinted moisturizer, concealer or foundation so I suggest you can use Naturactor Cover face also that will give good coverage like mine. I love the way it sets after a while, leaving a natural, flawless finish.I am really impressed with this products.

Before and after using Naturactor Pressed Powder

It blends nicely on my face, it looks very natural it finish my skin flawless looking.

The PROS of this Naturactor Pressed Powder are the following:
  1. Easy to apply
  2. Mattifys shine very well
  3. Super fine powder, not cakey at all
  4. Kind on wrinkles
  5. I can be used on its own (primer)
  6. It easily hides blemishes, dark spots has a good coverage
  7. Some people might find the mirror handy for touch ups
  8. The sheer coverage means you can touch up, without covering up your bronzer or blush
  9. Can be used as a nude eye shadow without creasing or emphasizing fine lines
  10. This makes it the ideal choice for people with oily skin -- it doesn't add more shine to the face or clog pores
  11. It is good for sensitive skin.
  12. Travel friendly

The CONS of this Naturactor Pressed Powder are the following:
  • Expensive
  • Available online only

All in all I really love this Naturactor Pressed Powder. I’ve been using it for over a year now and have repurchased it every few months. I enjoy using it on almost a daily basi I turt whatever the day brings for my makeup. I will continue using it for an all over setting powder again again.

Do you use Naturactor Pressed Powder? Why don't you try this pressed powder and see the perfect you are!

SAFFRON AND NEEM REVIEW

Hello everyone !!

How are you all ? Today on the blog i am going to review my favorite cleanser by Forest Essentials  .... I have sensitive skin that is easily prone to pimples and acne if i use any chemical based formula on it , so i always search and prefer chemical free products for my skin and this time my search ended at Forest Essentials store . I am in love with this brand . They recently opened their store in ludhiana and i went to buy some pure virgin almond oil from them but along with it i bought some hair care and skin care products too . I am just so impressed the way their staff deal and helps you and not compelling at all to sell their each and every product to you . They guide you as per your body and skin needs and the way they  pack their products is just awesome and you should visit their store definitely for once if its  in your city and have that experience yourself guys !! FOREST ESSENTIAL IS KNOWN FOR ITS AYURVEDIC PRODUCTS THAT ARE NOT MADE IN INDUSTRIAL AREAS , ARE NOT TESTED ON ANIMALS AND 100% CHEMICAL FREE .

One product that i bought from their skin care range is their Delicate Facial Cleanser with Kashmiri Saffron and Neem . From last fifteen days i was just facing these acute acne and zits on my left cheek that were getting worse day by day . Although i have a good clear skin but i was on some medications for whole last month in December and i think these occurred as a side effect of them for sure !! The acne i got this time  were so bad that i was about to make an appointment with some dermatologist to get them checked but here this cleanser came to my rescue :) So, lets check out its review in detail below :

Price and Packaging  : I preferred to buy their travel pack first as to check whether it would suit my skin or not . Its a 50 ml pack for rs. 250 and ans you will have to pay rs.975 for a 200 ml pack . Would sound bit pricey for sure but the quality you get justifies the price of the product .It comes in a plastic bottle packaging with a golden metal cap on it . Packaging is quite convenient to use and only a little desired amount comes out when you press the bottle . This small packaging would be enough for one month usage if we use it twice a day .

SHELF LIFE  : Shelf life is one year from the date of manufacturing and 6 months from the date of opening.

WHAT IT CONTAINS AND CLAIMS  : It contains all organic and natural ingredients given below :
  • Steamed distilled rose water ( we all know how good is it for skin )
  • Steamed distilled marigold water (anti inflammatory and anti microbial effect on skin )
  • Steamed distilled jasmine water ( for natural fragrance )
  • Steamed distilled kewada water ( acts as a good toner and cleanses oil and dirt from skin )
  • Neem infusion
  • Organic honey
  • Nagkesar ( useful in each and every skin disorder !! you name it !! )
  • Anantmool ( again useful in skin diseases like pigmentation and acne )
  • Pure saffron extract
  • Kumud ( improves skin tone and its texture )
  • Phenoxyethanol (paraben free )
It claims to cleanse your skin removing dirt and exfoliates dead skin making it clean and fresh . Its 100% paraben free and does not contain any mineral oil , petroleum by products , SLS , Sulphate .

MY TAKE ON THE PROCUCT  : I use it twice everyday and a pea size amount is enough for everyday cleansing but if you are using it after removing your heavy party makeup at night you will need double the amount to get the desired clean effect .It is light yellow colored cleanser that does not lather much and has very nice gentle saffron and jasmine fragrance that i really fell in love with . This product showed instant healing effect on my pimples bad acne . They almost dried within two days of using it and the other effect i noticed on my skin is shrunken pores . It does not dries out your skin post wash at all and your skin don't fell stretched and craving for moisture as it feels almost after using every other basic cleanser in winters. It has a soothing effect on the skin and i have noticed that my skin is getting better day by day . It is suitable for all skin types and just the right product for people having sensitive skin. After using this product i almost daily skip my toning step in my skin care regimen at night as i am getting all the benefits of a toner from this cleanser itself .

GOOD THINGS ABOUT THE PRODUCT  :

  • Travel friendly packaging
  • Chemical free
  • Natural ingredients
  • Good for every skin type
  • Does not leaves your skin dry post wash
  • Paraben free
  • Product is not tested on animals
  • Heals acne and zits very well
  • Oils in it are cold pressed by hand
  • Price ( for such quality it is rightly justified )
NOT SO GOOD THINGS ABOUT THIS PRODUCT  :

WOULD I REPURCHASE : Definitely !! I am just glued to it ;P

RATING :  5 / 5

I highly recommend this product to give it a try for at least once !! And do let me know whether you liked it or not :) !! Soon i will be reviewing its virgin almond oil that is working wonderfully on my skin !! Till then stay tuned and do share your valuable comments and suggestions on the blog !! They make my day :)

Hello beauties !! :)

How are you all ? doing fine !! hope so :)
Today i am going to review a product from maybelline eye studio that i purchased recently ... it is lasting drama gel eyeliner !! These day i am in love with my plain kohl eyed look everyday but for that special occasion or any festive moment i cant do without my eyeliner ...

For very first time i am using a gel based eyeliner ( my previous one was extra lasting eyeliner from avon ) . I bought this for Rs. 380 and it has shelf life of approx.30 months..

Packaging : Maybelline lasting drama gel eyeliner comes in a beautiful tiny tub packaging with a silver cap on its top .You get an exclusive eyeliner brush with it . Personally i really found the packaging too cute . I love such tiny winy packaging's very much . Its travel friendly if you don't throw away its outer packaging as it will help you find your gel eyeliner and brush to apply it at one place ..

What it claims : It claims to be water proof and smudge proof eyeliner that lasts for 24 hrs. It is quick dry formula and resists tears sweat and water . It does  not crease and the brush provided along with it allows you fine to thick smooth even application on your eyes..

My take on the product : I liked the product . The first thing i noticed is that it does not has that strong chemical based smell that generally all liquid eyeliners contain. It is a fuss free formula and its claim to be a quick dry one stands absolutely true . You don't need to keep your eyes closed for some time post its application . It does not have that typical gel type consistency rather it has smooth texture . It will not give your lids a glossy look rather it gives a matte look to your eyes . Yes , it is water proof as well as smudge free . But the one thing that i didn't like about this eyeliner  or i can say about its brush is that it is not appropriate for fine line application ... you will need an extra fine liner brush for that sleek stroke. It basically allows line to be drawn thick . It stays well for whole day and does not cause irritation to your eyes . Does not smudge much even if you rub your eyes the quality that i really liked . Ideal for that dramatic eye look ...

after rubbing too hard

after washing hands with soap

good things :
  • water proof
  • smudge free
  • long lasting
  • do not crease
  • quick dry
  • non irritable to eyes
  • smell free
Not so good things:
  • brush does not provide that fine thin line application
  • price is variable at different stores
Rating : 4 / 5

Will i repurchase it : yes , for that smokey and dramatic looking eyes :)

Lakme Absolute Shine Line REVIEW .........

LAKME ABSOLUTE SHINE LINE REVIEW :

Hi everyone !

How are you all ? today i am going to review lakme absolute shine line . These days colored liners are very much in trend . I had tried a golden brown liner previously that i really liked very much and as the color of my eyes is brown too so it really suited me well . But while purchasing olive shade liner i was not sure enough that would it suit me or not .. But i am quite happy with the results so far ... i am really loving its sleek application and smooth finish .So ,cutting it short now lets check out the full review in detail .

Price and Packaging : Lakme Absolute Shine Line will cost you rs.300 for a 4.5 ml pack . It comes in four different shades available online at http://www.nykaa.com/    Packaging is quite nice . It comes in a plastic body tube and with a metal cap and the brush provided is just too amazing to give you that perfect lining in just one stroke .. I would say that it is a perfect brush for that winged liner look .. Pretty much in love with its brush which is the major part in deciding the worth of any liner as if the applicator brush is good more than half of the job is done .

shelf life  : Shelf life is 30 months from the date of packaging

my take on this product  : I am in love with liner due to its qualities like  its sleek brush and its quick dry property . It  dries out instantly post application and you do not need to sit or wait closing your eyes to let it get dry and not ruin your makeup if got smudged when its wet . But for proper olive color to get noticed on your eyes you will definitely need to apply two to three coats of it otherwise it hardly gets noticed on your eyes . I would recommend it to women with lighter skin tone and those who don't have dark circles around their eyes as on darker skin tones it will be hardly noticed and wont do any justice to your eye makeup ... its a long stay one and does not get smudged if you happen to rub your eyes anytime .. gets off easily when you need to remove it without any fuss or darkening your eyes ...

the look i created with lakme absolute shine line ...

good things :
  • not over priced
  • travel friendly
  • applicator brush is just perfect
  • quick dry
  • smudge proof
  • water based formula
  • long stay
  • gets off easily

not so good things :
  • does not gives you intense color in just one stroke
would i repurchase : yes !! definitely

rating : 4 / 5
comments and suggestions for any further improvement of review are always appreciated :)

LAKME LIP LOVE CONDITIONER REVIEW.......

Got to purchase this lakme lip love conditioner from the range of lakme lip love products that are exclusively created in italy ... What made me purchase this product was its packaging and its tiny size ... absolutely perfect to carry with yourself while traveling in winters for those smooth glossy lips ...Purchased the color named flirt.

prize and packaging :

Rs.225 for a pack of 3 gm . Packaging is too cute , its a pot packaging with a red metal cap and when you open it you find the lipcolor packed in the shape of heart ... I really fell in love with it at the very first sight .Even when you hold it reverse you see shape of heart formed with the lipcolor in the glass jar. Packaging is just awesome and appealing to eyes ...

what it claims :

lakme lip love conditioner claims to hydrate and condition your lips with shea butter and jojoba oil . It comes with spf 12 to protect lips from sun damage.

My take on the product :

I wont say its a lipstick rather i would say it works more like a lip balm . But as lip balms generally don't provide any color to your lips this product from lakme will give you a tint with gloss . Its not a fully developed color but will will give your lips a nice light colored coverage . Perfect for everyday use , office goers or college going girls . The color named flirt that i bought is a pink toned color and gives a very light pink coverage to your lips . I would say that it does not lasts for too long , you will have to reapply it even after a light meal . It has got a light fruity fragrance to it that i personally loved as it is not too strong or overpowering . It cant be used as a base under your lipsticks as lipsticks will not stick to it due to its glossiness ... So, i would say that its neither a proper lipstick nor a proper lip balm , its something in between that you can use everyday for that natural non makeup look. One thing i really did not like about it is that i have to apply it with my lip brush as its a jar packaging and does not comes with a lip brush . You can apply it with your finger tip as well .

good things:
  • lovely packaging
  • good for everyday use
  • moisturises your lips
  • does not makes lips crack
  • gives a tint to your lips
  • nice fragrance
  • travel friendly
  • comes with spf 12
not so good things:
  • needs touch up every time you eat or drink anything
  • non hygienic as there's no brush with it to apply
  • have to carry an extra lip brush or use your finger tip to apply it
  • cant replace your lip balm

RATING : 3/5
REPURCHASE : Not sure !!

Review: Dermax AcneX Exfoliant Soap

Religiously following my skincare regimen did not, at any rate, spare me from random pimples which, I think, exist only to annoy me. Some are more fortunate than others when it comes to breakouts but I think no one is ever safe from them. Eek! HAHA! That felt like a good opening voice over for a horror movie. :))

I can only imagine how severe breakout can be a nightmare to some and I'm just glad I never really experience it at full extent. My little brother, on the other hand, is not so lucky. Ever since he started high school, his skin has been acting up. It's not as serious as I put it out to be but compared to my other sibling's, I think our youngest had it the worst. That said, I decided to test this on him and then documenting the progress. Let's start.
 Product Description:
(Taken from www.skinstation.ph)

Keeps pores unclogged, prevents blackheads and whiteheads with time-released Salicylic acid through advanced double encapsulation technology. Helps skin become clear, smooth and even-toned. Continuously works to clear acne even after rinsing.
Dermax AcneX Exfoliant Soap contains Sodium Stearate that is frequently used in soaps for its mild cleansing properties that are said to make it easier for water to remove grime off the skin. It was originally used to treat skin diseases as well. Also, it contains Salicylic Acid that is commonly known for its pimple-drying effect. From those facts alone you can just imagine how tough and drying this can be to the skin so if you have dry skin, I'd suggest you stir clear of this. On the other hand, for those with normal to oily skin, moderation is still key. We don't want to dehydrate our skin, right?

During the first 2 weeks, my brother used this twice a day but I noticed that his skin was becoming a bit dry and as I thought, he confirmed that his skin does feel stretched after wash. For the following weeks, I asked him to use it once a day - only at night. With this regimen, Dermax AcneX Exfoliant Soap still worked its magic without drying the skin. As per instructions, it is advised that you use this twice a day but then again, try to "feel" what your skin's current state is.
For a medicated soap, you'd expect it to be harsh on the skin and with strong awful smell. I used it a couple of times, too, and I can attest that AcneX, although it smells a bit like medicinal herbs, it doesn't smell as bad as you'd think it would. The scent is faint and it doesn't stay on the skin. Phew! It's easy to wash off, too, and it doesn't sting the eyes as much.

P.S I suggest you try this too. I like cutting up bar soaps into small portions to avoid the unnecessary melting of some parts. This 135g soap lasted almost 2 months. Not bad, eh? :D
As for the result: *drum rolls please*
Like I said, I'm not really acne-prone (thank God for that!) so I asked my lil brother to use it for a couple of weeks. He doesn't have severe acne problems but as any teen going through puberty, he gets tiny pimples around the cheek and forehead. Well as you can see, those tiny bumps significantly lessened over the span of 6 weeks. I'd also like to think that Dermax AcneX Exfoliant Soap prevented new ones from popping up. There are still some pimples left but not as many and as obvious as before.

Oh, please don't mind the difference in hue/color - the first one was taken indoors while the after shot was taken outside, in broad daylight and my camera was on auto focus. :)
I can say that it is rather effective! Even my brother thinks so, too. He's been bugging me to get him another bar as this one's about to run out soon. I'm beginning to think vanity runs in the family. HAHA! I would most definitely recommend this to those who have oily, acne-prone skin especially for teens. Budget-friendly and effective - who won't want that?

PURPLE TONING SHAMPOO

photos/post: Kristin Ess graphic design: Eunice Chun
If you’re a blonde or even if you have highlights on darker hair, you know that over time the color can turn a hot shade of mellow yellow. It’s hard to get excited about your hair when the tone is off. (Trumpets) Enter purple shampoo. I’ve been using various purple shampoos on my clients for many years. I can tell when someone blonde/highlighted uses it vs. someone who doesn’t and the ones who do tend to come in less often and are happier with their color for a longer period of time. Purple is exact opposite of yellow on the color wheel, which is why it cools the gold/brass tones down. The last time we mentioned purple shampoo in a post, one or two readers expressed their skepticism about whether it works or not. It does, but it’s really important to research and find the right one. The best purple shampoos tend to be so densely pigmented that using it the first time can actually be a little scary. Don’t fret– I’d hope no brand would put a purple shampoo on the shelves that would ruin your hair. A good purple shampoo will be dark purple, not light purple, and it shouldn’t be transparent. You see how dark the one is above? That’s what you should look for. Here’s a photo of one of my clients before and after she started using purple shampoo for the first time. It makes a huge difference in a good way…
Purple shampoo pointers…
  • When you first start using purple shampoo, use it every other time you shampoo and then adjust your useage from there. If you find that it’s still brassy, start using it every time you shampoo. If you see it starting to get just a touch too ashy, slow your usage. I have clients who use it once a week and some who use it every time they shampoo. It really depends on the type of hair you have (and the amount of yellow you’re trying to combat.)
  • If you’re all over blonde, apply a good amount of purple shampoo to the root and let it run out through the ends as you lather and rinse. Typically the top of your hair is more golden/brassy than the ends (if you’re blonde) so you’d want the most concentrated amount up top. The ends are more porous and will grab the color faster so it doesn’t need to stay on the ends as long. Just let it drizzle through the ends and they will catch the color.
  • If you’re not a blonde but have blonde or caramel highlights on hair that’s darker, you’ll want to only apply purple shampoo where you have lightened hair. You can always shampoo your hair with something else up top and then apply the purple toning shampoo to the lighter bits that tend to get brassy.
  • If your hair gets really yellow, let the purple shampoo sit on for 5 min. If you’re just fighting a minimal amount of brass,  a minute or two will be sufficient.
  • If you have a medicated scalp shampoo or just a shampoo that you can’t live without, you can always shampoo twice– once using your regular shampoo to get your hair clean or your scalp taken care of and then once with the purple to tone. I’ve always shampooed my (and my client’s hair) twice to get a super clean canvas for styling. So when I was blonde, I would shampoo once with a cleansing shampoo and then once with purple to tone. Typically purple shampoos aren’t known for their cleansing properties so if you need to get your scalp really clean, try using the two shampoo method.
  • Purple conditioners– not a fan. I would rather not tone the hair twice. It becomes too much and can lead to an ashy tone if you over do it with both shampoo and conditioner. Purple shampoo followed by a good condtioner is more than enough.
  • If, by chance, you ever over-do it and take it one purple shampoo too far, don’t worry. Just hop back in the shower and shampoo with a non-purple shampoo and it will fade off.
My 3 favorite purple shampoos are: THIS ONE called Color Save by Schwarzkopf, THIS ONE called Blonda by Unite, and THIS ONE called Color Endure by Joico. The Schwarzkopf one is my over all award-winner favorite and the one I tell every one of my blonde/highlighted clients to get. The Joico purple shampoo is sulfate free and good for those blondes who have brazilian blowouts or keratin treatments who need to tone down yellow. The Unite purple shampoo is another favorite that does a great job of restoring a more neutral blonde (and it smells delicious!)
Have  you used purple shampoo? Are you terrified? Do you have a great purple shampoo you’d like to share? You know the drill… spill it!
